Hey guys, I'm Dr. Matt Shelly with Geaux Chiro. D'ann here has a shoulder problem and we're trying to work on that for her. She stated that basically at the end of a toes to bar or pull ups where she's in a very big kipping motion, she'll feel a pull right through here. Sometimes it's when we let down from a push press, push jerk, the receiving of it is tough cause she can't fully externally rotate and be in that position at the same time. A lot of times what will happen is your posterior rotator cuff, the rotator cuff muscles that are housed in the shoulder blade, they get banged up or they get tight. So we're gonna work on restricting that, go face down.
They use an active release, all I'm going to have D'ann do is you're going to go into this motion and to work thumbed down for me. So we'll go from here to here. Just keep going. So I'll basically to get my contact and that she goes through her range of motion. I'm just looking for any adhesion, any tightness in the muscle, and I'm going to try to work through that to where if I were to do so, the resistance on that muscle, the next time she's doing the movement, she'll feel less tension. She'll have better range of motion and obviously less pain.
Turn that thumb down. Good, right there. Okay, relax for me. So no, obviously I just made a few passes, but I'd probably do six to nine passes in that area and looking to the shoulder blade around the shoulder blade and see if I found any stickiness or if that shoulder blade itself isn't moving and how to fix that. And then we can always adjust to the mid back. I'm Dr. Matt Shelly with Geaux Chiro.
